Using and old and out of date motor it manages to create one of the best horror stories we can enjoy on a computer. Furthermore, being a `mod´ it´s totally free (if we have the mentioned Half Life of course).The adventure of Cry of Fear starts when our character wakes up in a dark alleyway, confused and not exactly knowing how on earth he got there. The story starts in this typical way using the traditional horror conventions very well, but will end up being an outstanding adventure.All the action in the game is developed in first person and even though at first we won´t have any weapons other than our cellphone, a photo camera and a knife, as we go along discovering new threats we will manage to get better weapons and equipment. And we will need them, because some of the most dangerous enemies in the game will need a good shot in the face.Graphically Cry of Fear is quite old-fashioned, but taking into account that it uses a more than fifteen year old motor, it´s not quite so bad. In any case, thanks to the dark setting and the design of some of the creatures, the game produces authentic terror anyways.Cry of Fear is an outstanding mod that tells a very good horror story, and will give its players some of the biggest frights since Silent Hill.

This is a game which is in a very early alpha state, this means only the core gameplay is partially developed, so the story mode listed below is not yet implemented, it is just an idea which will be slowly implemented in the game. So please note that we know the story is not yet in the game, however regular updates are made to the game, so it should come out soon enough. You play as Thomas, a guy, a simple man. He lives with his daughter Jessica, but they live far in the forest, just between the city and the plains were he can harvest everything and more efficiently. Since there are no schools on the forest, Thomas has to take Jessica to the city...where everyone lives. Normally, Thomas showed up at exactly 2:00 PM to take back Jessica to the house. But, a special ocassion showed up, Jessica made some friends which convinced Thomas to let Jessica go with them to the city for some hours. Skeptically, he accepted. The clock marked 6 o´clock...nothing. 7 o´clock, nothing, she didn´t return. *Download the .zip file.
*If you are asked where to download it, download it somewhere you will remember, if not, it should be on the downloads folder.
*Retrieve the file (locate it).
*Unzip the file (right click and select ’extract here’).
*A new folder should Pop-up, select it.
*Some new files should appear.
*Select the file Slender.exe or just Slender.
*Depending on the computer, it should open in a couple of seconds.
*You are ready to playMacOS
Not quite yet...If this steps do not work
*Run Slender or Slender.exe as an administrator. To do it, just click once the Slender program, then right click it and search for the ’run as administrator’ button. Just accept to give privileges, and then play
*If it does not work, check your antivirus. Sometimes antivirus do not trust uncertified developers. If you exclude the Slender.exe file from scans, you should play it, no problem.
